Starent Networks’ technology features purpose-built platforms combined with proprietary software that can be configured into specific network functions for CDMA, LTE, UMTS/HSPA, WiMAX, WiFi, and femtocell.

Starent’s ST-Series multimedia core platforms consist of a robust, carrier-class chassis; application and processing cards for system management and processing all network functions and services; and line cards for the physical connection to the network. The ST-Series serves as the primary platform for most of Starent’s network functions.

Our XT-Series service convergence platform is suited for mobile or fixed network operators seeking a bridge between different generations of access and core network technologies for existing and new services.

Network Functions
Starent's platforms are able to support one or more network functions in a single system by enabling appropriate software features. As a result, a single platform with multiple integrated functions is more cost effective and easier to manage than deploying several single-purpose access gateways.

In-line Services
Our platforms include In-line Services that provide value-added functionality, such as enhanced charging and billing, intelligent traffic control, peer-to-peer detection and control, stateful firewall, and content filtering. In-line Services also help optimize the network and simplify its architecture by eliminating the need for load balancers, firewalls, and routers to deploy and support additional services.

Intelligent Management
Starent leverages the industry-leading data collection capabilities of our platforms by using real-time information to provide precise reporting, troubleshooting, and system management.
