The SGSN supports any combination of 2.5G and 3G networks on a single platform and offers interfaces to connect with legacy 2.5G network equipment. Network efficiency and operational simplicity can be increased further by combining the SGSN with Starent’s Gateway GPRS Support Node (GGSN) on the same multimedia core platform.
